The Lunch On the Way- KARACHI TO KHUNJERAB PASS-
Our way to Gilgit was completely different from the part we just covered, from the view, to the atmosphere everything was changing. More greener than before and the temperature was lowering again. Only the water of the river remained muddy brown. Plain grasslands with Lash green meadows were all gone, replaced by valleys of long thin trees, not the type of pine trees we saw in kaghan valley, but mostly fruit trees. We also saw some step farming but it was very rare.

“These trees over here, are different from the pine trees of kaghan valley. Mostly Gilgit Baltistan is filled with fruit trees like apple and apricot,” informed Baji.

“I remember the trees we saw In Balochistan, when we visited Quetta, they were totally different too, short ad round. Mostly cactus. it’s like Allah has created different greenery for different valleys and places, they differentiate these valleys from one another. Giving them their own identity. Seriously, more we consider this world the more there is to see,” I said praising the beauty of the creation.

“Yes, that’s the point there’s so much in this world, for us to praise and most important thing is, it’s for us, all of this. We are the supreme beings. Although we hadn’t done anything to deserve all this,” appraised Baji.

“One should visit these areas in autumn, it’s all orange and red, lovely site,” said Bhaiya.

“Didn’t you visit Hunza in autumn, before when you were in college, the famous bike trip of yours,” I asked

“Yes, it was awesome, really enchanting,” Bhaiya answered.

“What about here should we stop here for lunch?” Yaseen sahab said out loud, loud enough that can be heard at the back of the bus.

“Yes, it will be ok, right guys,” said Bhaiya.

“Anything is perfect for me, I’m starving,” I grinned.

It was a small restaurant or rather a Pathan chai Cafe. The family room was up on the roof. We settled down on our table, which was specially set for us by joining four of the small tables.

“Here have some cherries, very delicious,” Obaid bhai offered a bag full of cherries.

“Awesome, they’re so red,” said Omama.

“Oo look my hand’s bleeding,” said Ashhad.

I turned towards him, for a second I thought that it really was, everyone started laughing, then I noticed that it was just smashed cherries.

The food we ordered was the famous Nan with Dal Channa, and we also opened our trusty can food, that day it was Bhabi’s Mince Meat with potatoes.

“Ok, I’ve talked to my friend here, he has arranged a place for us to stay tonight in Gilgit, not far from here,” Bhaiya said while putting his phone back into his pocket.
